Rumors have been running for about a month about what could be the collaboration of the year: sneakers from Adidas Y Balenciaga. Now some photos fuel the expectations of fans: the Instagram account specializing in street culture Detroit Bar Sneaker has released some unofficial images of the double logo shoes, characterized by a massive line, raised sole and essential, black and white palette.

Because a collaboration between Adidas and Balenciaga is possible

In mid-March, a social media leak from the @apolloluo1976 account sparked rumors of a possible collaboration between the sportswear giant and the fashion brand designed by the visionary designer. Demna Gvasalia. The news, in fact, immediately seemed more than plausible: Adidas presented a collaboration with gucci during the Fall/Winter 2022-23 show. Demna Gvasalia, for his part, is famous for impossible collaborations: he designed a pair of crocodiles with the stiletto heel and worked together with the low cost brand Gap in a “triangle” between Balenciaga, Gap Y Yeezy from kanye-west. If you add the creative hacking between Gucci and Balenciaga, the circle closes perfectly.

The first images of the Adidas x Balenciaga sneakers

The photos published by the Sneaker Bar Detroit account, taken immediately by Hypebaest, seem to confirm it: Adidas could launch a reissue of the historic Triple-S sneakers along with Balenciaga, with the iconic black details and chunky white and gray soles. The touch that will drive collectors crazy is the number on the toe box, along with the new lacing. The brands have not yet confirmed it and the images have been leaked from unofficial accounts, but this secrecy could be part of the hype strategy, that mix of anticipation and expectation that fashion marketing feeds on. After all, what is desire without a bit of mystery?
