Christine d’Ornano, who is now Global Vice President of the Sisley brand, told us what is behind the collaboration with Mytheresa:

“Sisley and Mytheresa share similar values of quality and excellence, so we both thought it would be fun to create this emerging beauty and fit it into Mytheresa’s fashion-driven environment. It has given Sisley the opportunity to express the brand in a different way, with a focus on the different generations of the family that work in the company.”

Collaboration with Mytheresa puts a new focus on different generations

In fact, this seems to be an exciting step for the family, because it is certainly not always easy to manage such a successful company in family hands and then for three generations, but it seems to be working. The secret behind this? to listen to each other. At least that’s how the founder Isabelle d’Ornano describes it: “Our company became a family business because our children proved to be very competent. Otherwise, we would never have risked handing over management to close relatives. Things came naturally, we didn’t plan it that way. I think there has to be a boss, someone who really decides, but everyone in the company has a specific role and we all listen to each other”.

It stays in the family: Values and traditions are preserved for generations

And so the original values and ideas behind the brand can be preserved to this day. Christine describes Sisley’s specialty as “Natural, effective and beneficial”. This approach has also shaped the image of beauty in the family, which founder Isabelle describes as a rainbow of colors: “There is beauty in nature, in the world, there is beauty in people, there is beauty in art and , of course, beauty in our products But for me, beauty is a term of the rainbow”. This eclectic perspective on beauty and naturalness is also shared by her daughter, who says that “there are many kinds of beauty”. She explains it this way: “I think beauty is essentially a radiance. It has a lot to do with confidence and it’s also about looking healthy. There are many kinds of beauty and beauty is there at any age. But being comfortable in your own skin is a big part of that and that’s what we at Sisley want to contribute to!”
