Ssd Colonna, sport unites

Colonna (Rm) – The Colonna SSD is “borderless”. In a complicated world moment in terms of relations, the Castilian club has signed a “twinning football” agreement with the Lithuanian club Kaunas Futura. A delegation from the Eastern European nation led by President Gabrielius Zagurskas (former professional player) and sports director Audrius Jagintavicius visited the Castilian club in recent days, but not before being received and greeted at the Colonna municipal building by the mayor Fausto Giuliani and by the managing director of Sport Giorgio Cascia. Later, the Lithuanians went to the Colonna sports center where they greeted the basketball coach Diego Palumbo from where the idea of this twinning was born and finally they spent an entire afternoon at the “Tozzi” field to attend the football school training. and agonist. “We are very proud to be able to start such an international collaboration – says Angelo Carletta, General Manager of Colonna – Kaunas Futura executives were very impressed with our training methods designed for children and, pandemic permitting, we will try to put permanent events already before the end of the season. For example, some of our coaches could go to Kaunas or we could organize tournaments for the youth sector both with us and with them. At the end of the meeting we gave the Lithuanians a book about the beauties of our city and territory, as well as a sportswear kit from our company”. Also very significant are the words of Giorgio Cascia, municipal councilor responsible for Sport: “This agreement between the two sports clubs confirms that sport does not divide , but unites. A speech that is especially true for football, which remains the most popular and most beautiful sport in the world: I thank everyone for the agreement reached today, but above all the partners and their parents for the trust they show every day by entrusting their children to the SSD Colonna”.
